Daria Yeromka
Krakow
Hi, I am Daria Yeromka — a professional monumental artist, painter, educator, and visual arts researcher.
Alongside large-scale architectural projects, I actively work in interior, decorative, and applied art genres. My portfolio includes decorative panels, ceramic sculptures, art textiles, and graphics. In my artistic practice, I am particularly drawn to motifs of nature and themes of metaphysics, exploring the dialogue between form, material, and underlying existential meaning.
My creative worldview developed at the intersection of two distinct fields: exact sciences and fine art. Growing up alongside my father, a physicist and inventor, spending time in his radiophysics laboratory, and observing my mother—an outstanding Ukrainian artist in decorative, monumental, and applied arts—laid the foundation for my multidisciplinary approach. Despite an intensive early focus on foreign languages and classical music, I consciously chose the path of fine arts, where I now blend scientific rigor, academic discipline, and aesthetic expression.
Education and Academic Background
The foundation of my professional mastery was built at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts (KSADA). I had the honor of studying under prominent masters of the Ukrainian art school:
Painting and Composition: V. Hontarov, Y. Bykov, A. Anoricheva-Yeromka
Academic Drawing: O. Martynets, R. Nohin, M. Brahin
Ceramics, Monumental and Traditional Techniques: V. Shapovalov (ceramics), V. Shulyko and T. Ivanova (iconography), M. Radomsky (stained glass), Y. Kardash (mosaics), O. Yakhina and D. Rakova (architectural design and printmaking).
In 2011, I graduated with honors, earning a Master's degree with a focus on monumental mosaic solutions in open urban spaces. Following my graduation, I was invited to teach at the Department of Monumental Painting at KSADA.
Experience and Media
My practice encompasses a broad spectrum of classical and complex monumental techniques: sgraffito, fresco, mosaic, stained glass, ceramics, iconography, as well as easel painting and graphics.
2010–2012: Participated in the painting of Orthodox churches in the Byzantine style under the direction of Andriy Babatenko. This experience provided a deep understanding of sacred art, canonical plastic form, and the architectural logic of interior spaces.
Since 2012: I have maintained an active private studio practice, creating easel and monumental works for private and public interiors and exteriors.
Exhibitions and Urban Initiatives
I am a regular participant in regional and national exhibitions organized by the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (NUAU), as well as international art projects and expositions.
Urban Projects and Placemaking (2012–2022): Over the decade, I actively engaged with city initiatives, creating street art, enhancing courtyard spaces, and participating in charitable art campaigns.
Contemporary Context and Auctions: I actively collaborate with contemporary Ukrainian artists, taking part in joint exhibition projects, conceptual initiatives, and benefit art auctions.
Teaching Philosophy
Alongside my creative work, I am passionately dedicated to teaching. In my work with students, I aim to unlock their individual potential through a synthesis of technical discipline, a deep understanding of art history, and cultural-philosophical contexts.
